Self-Leveling Concrete & Overlays in Laredo TX - a flat base for your new floor
Dips and high spots in your concrete make new flooring hard to lay. We pour a level layer first so your floor goes down flat.

Do I need self-leveling concrete before my new floor goes in?
Self-leveling concrete is a thin layer poured over an indoor concrete slab before new flooring goes down. At Truefinish Laredo Epoxy Floors, we use it in Laredo, TX homes and businesses so tile, plank or other finish flooring sits on a flat, even base instead of following every dip in the old slab.
Most people call us after they've pulled up an old floor and found a slab with low spots, humps or patched cracks that the new flooring won't lie flat on. The price moves with the size of the room, how far the slab is out of level and how much crack repair or old-flooring removal it needs. The schedule turns on how dry the slab is and whether the room can hold a steady temperature while the layer cures, so I'll give you your own figure and timing once I've seen the floor.
How we handle self-leveling concrete and overlays
Before anything is poured, we check the slab for moisture and cracks, because a self-leveler poured over a damp or moving slab passes those problems up to your new floor. Once the slab is ready, our crew grinds and cleans the surface and repairs the cracks. Then we prime the concrete, since primer helps the self-leveler bond and keeps porous concrete from drying unevenly and cracking. We close the doors and windows and shade any sunny glass, and the maker's instructions call for the HVAC to stay off until the layer cures so no drafts blow across it. Then we pour, let the material settle to a level surface and keep the room closed up and shaded while it cures.
Self-leveling is usually one step in a bigger floor job. If there's old tile, carpet glue, paint or a worn coating on the slab, our crew takes it off first through our concrete floor stripping and removal service, because primer and self-leveler need bare concrete to grip. If the concrete on your mind is outside around the pool, that's a separate job, and you'll find it under pool deck coatings and resurfacing.
Why Laredo homeowners call Truefinish Laredo Epoxy Floors for self-leveling
I write every estimate myself
I come out myself to look at your floor and write the estimate, and my crew does the grinding, prep and installation while I check the work along the way. You talk with the person responsible for the job, and we treat your home with courtesy from the first visit to the last.
Product sheets read since 2017
I started this business in 2017 after grinding and coating garage floors for neighbors on weekends, and I learned the trade by reading the product sheets before I opened a can. That habit is why we follow the maker's instructions on priming, temperature and curing instead of guessing.
Cracks checked for clay movement
About a third of Webb County's soil is clay that swells when it gets wet and shrinks as it dries, and that movement can crack a slab. We're based in Laredo and work in the cities around it, so I look hard at every crack before we pour and tell you plainly what I see.
Fully licensed and insured crew
We're fully licensed and insured. You shouldn't have to carry the risk yourself while a crew is working inside your home or business.
What matters most on this job is a slab that's dry, sound and ready before anything is poured, and I'd rather tell you it isn't ready than pour over it and watch the floor fail. When you're ready, call (956) 508-9073 or send us a message with the room size, the flooring you plan to put down and any cracks you've noticed.
Get a free on-site estimate for your self-leveling job
We reply to calls and messages within one business day, and the estimate is free and comes with no obligation. Once you send the form, we'll set a time for me to come out, look over your floor and slab, and write up your estimate. Thank you for considering us.

What people ask about self-leveling floors
Can self-leveling concrete go on my patio or driveway?
No. The self-leveling underlayment we pour is made for floors inside your home or business. One maker's guide says these products are for interior floors only, so we use them in rooms where new flooring is going down.
Will the cracks in my concrete slab show through my new floor?
Some can, and I'd rather tell you that before we start than after. Cracks or joints that are still moving can carry up through a self-leveling layer and crack the finish flooring, and one maker's guide says repairing a crack only reduces its chance of showing through. We repair what we find and tell you plainly which cracks still carry some risk.
What is the best time to pour self-leveling concrete in Laredo heat?
The best time is a stretch when the room can stay between 50°F and 95°F, because one maker's guide calls for the slab and the room to be in that range before the pour and for at least 72 hours after. Above 85°F, the same guide points installers to the American Concrete Institute's hot-weather guidelines, and on cooler days it calls for heaters that warm the air, aimed away from the fresh layer. In Laredo, we plan the date with you so the room can hold that range while the layer cures.
How long do I have to wait before new flooring can go over a concrete slab?
You wait until the moisture inside the slab drops to an acceptable level, because a coating or floor put down over a wet slab can let go. That's why we check the slab before we pour, and that reading sets the schedule more than anything else.
Who handles permits for flooring work in Laredo, and can I pull my own?
We do. When a job needs a city permit, we pull it as your contractor and handle the paperwork with the city, and if you aren't sure whether your project needs one, we'll find out before work starts. The City of Laredo states that work without a permit isn't allowed, and a homeowner can pull a permit through the city's Building Development Services office but is then considered the contractor for the project.
How much does self-leveling concrete cost in Laredo?
I give you a price after I've looked at your floor, because two rooms the same size can need very different amounts of work. A slab with deep low spots takes more material than one that's nearly flat, and cracks, old glue or worn coatings add repair and removal before the pour. A slab that's already bare, dry and close to level costs the least, and I'll walk you through what's driving your number when I write it up.
