About our Laredo flooring contractor business
How I got started on Laredo floors
I started out grinding and coating garage floors for neighbors here in Laredo on weekends, and in 2017 those side jobs turned into this business. I learned the trade by doing the work and by reading each product sheet closely before I opened a can, because the maker's instructions shape how a coating should go down and cure.
Today homeowners call us about garages, basements and pool decks, and business owners call us about shop and warehouse floors. What I care about most is what's under the finish, since a floor is only as good as the slab and the prep beneath it. I also want you treated with courtesy in your own home or business, from the first visit to the last. You can see the full range of work we do on our home page, and I thank you for taking the time to read about us.
Our licensing, insurance and city permits
Fully licensed and insured
We're fully licensed and insured, so you aren't the one carrying the risk while our crew works on your property. The City of Laredo also requires anyone doing work in the city to register with its Building Development Services office, and a general contractor registers there with a $60 fee and a valid ID.
City permits when your job needs one
A permit is the city's written approval for a project, and the hired contractor usually pulls it, because a homeowner who pulls one is treated as the contractor on the job. When your project needs a city permit, we pull it as your contractor and handle the paperwork with the city, and if you aren't sure whether it needs one, we'll find out before work starts.
Serving Laredo and the cities around it
What you can expect when you hire us
The slab comes first
We grind and prep the concrete before any coating goes on, because a finish can only hold as well as the surface under it. That way your new floor has a sound base to hold onto for years.
I see your floor myself
I come out to look at the floor and write the estimate, and my crew does the grinding, prep and installation while I check the work along the way. The person who quoted your job is the one who answers for how it turns out.
An estimate you can compare
Your written estimate lists the prep, the product and what's included, so you can lay it next to any other bid and compare them fairly. Estimates are free, done at your property and come with no obligation.
A straight answer, even when it's no
If your slab isn't ready, or a different floor would suit it better, we'll tell you plainly, even when that means a smaller job for us. I'd rather say so up front than coat a floor and watch it fail.
